We're proud of the individuals that makes Ladybirds what it.is. Our qualified team take pride in the fun and lively atmosphere they create each day
Here is a little bit about us.
Liz – Preschool Leader, Safeguarding Lead; SENCo; ENCo; First Aid
Prior to working in Early Years Liz was a Management Accountant until starting a family in 1989, when without family close at hand Liz became a Registered Childminder and helped at a village playgroup in Hampshire.
On moving to Milborne St Andrew Liz joined a group of villagers who wanted to set up a preschool. And without a person to run it Liz stepped in until a leader could be recruited. All of that is now history as since 2002 when Ladybirds doors opened Liz has been the preschool leader.
Liz values the knowledge and good practice learnt from attending Network meetings and training courses. She holds Early Years Professional status and has a BA in Early Years Practice and continues to update in Special Educational Needs and Safeguarding.
Liz’s special interests are playing, having fun, talking to children and seeing children develop in confidence and character.
Antonia – Deputy Leader & Deputy DSL
Antonia moved to Milborne St Andrew in the Summer 2018 and with a child at the First School she joined Ladybirds in October 2018.
Antonia hold a level 4 Diploma in Montessori Pedagogy Birth to 7 years and has a previous background in industry.
Antonia’s interests include story telling particularly with props many of which she has made to support stories that children enjoy. Antonia works hard to get to know her key children then plans activities to cater for their individual interests.
Emily – Preschool Assistant
Emily lives locally and has two children both of whom attended Ladybirds. Over the years Emily helped on many occasions and eventually joined our team in 2017.
Emily has worked hard on her Level 3 in Childcare and should complete this Summer 2109.
She brings enthusiasm, great ideas and is quick thinking. Emily likes the outdoors, crafts and cooking Emily enjoys seeing children develop in a play environment where they have the confidence to interact with adults and other children. Emily is good at encouraging the youngest children to join in and follow the rules of the setting
Megan – Preschool Assistant
When Megan left school she joined a Nursery in the West Country as an Apprentice and completed her Level 2 in Childcare and Development
On returning to Dorset Megan started her Level 3 before joining Ladybirds in October 2018.
Meg completed her Level 3 October 2019
Megan has experience of working with babies and toddlers, following individual plans submitted by professionals, and working with challenging children.
Megan enjoys the outdoors and has taken on responsibility of daily outside play.
